A standard written for small teams

"ISO certified" gets used loosely in this industry. ISO/IEC 29110 (often written ISO29110) is the software engineering process standard written specifically for very small entities — teams like ours, not 500-person software houses. What it certifies is that the process exists and is followed, not that the software is good.

What it changes on your project

  • Requirements are written down and signed off before code is written, so "that's not what I asked for" is a document, not an argument.
  • Changes go through a change record. Scope creep becomes visible instead of becoming your timeline.
  • There's a defined verification step before anything reaches you, so UAT isn't the first time someone checks the work.
  • Project records survive staff turnover. If the developer who built your module leaves, the reasoning doesn't leave with them.

What it does not mean

It doesn't mean we'll be the cheapest quote, or that nothing will ever go wrong. It means when something does go wrong, there's a record of what was agreed, what changed, and who approved it. On a multi-year ERP relationship, that's worth more than it sounds. Thai readers: ISO 29110 คืออะไร.
